CRESTLINE, Calif., July 24 (Inland Empire News Online) — A black bear pushed open the front door of the Crestline Village Water District office in the San Bernardino Mountains on Wednesday afternoon, walked through the lobby and briefly into the main office, and left without injuring anyone or causing damage, staff said.

The district’s surveillance video shows the bear entering the Crestline office at about 12:15 p.m. and standing on its hind legs to open the door before wandering inside.

Office staff said the bear stayed in the lobby for about two minutes, then moved into the main office area for only a few seconds before turning back and leaving. Employees said no customers were in the office at the time and no one was in danger.

An office manager said the bear left nose prints on the doors but did not damage the building. Staff watched it calmly head back toward the woods.

The bear was described in the reports as small or young. The sources did not say whether wildlife officials later tracked it or took any action after it left the building.
