Purchased $7.5 Million Lot For Potential Expansion
Hesperia, California (Our Hesperia) – Kaiser Permanente, the largest managed care organization in the United States, has recently purchased a $7.5 million lot in Hesperia, California, signaling potential expansion plans in the High Desert region. The vacant lot is located on Escondido Avenue between Sultana Street and Kaiser Permanente’s existing medical facility.
This acquisition follows Kaiser’s previous land purchase in the area, where they broke ground for a new medical office building in November 2019. The 54,000-square-foot, three-story facility at 9550 Escondido Avenue was scheduled to open in 2021, offering a range of primary and specialty care services.
The new land purchase suggests that Kaiser Permanente may be planning further expansion of its services in Hesperia. This move aligns with the healthcare provider’s ongoing efforts to meet the growing medical needs of the High Desert community.
Kaiser Permanente has been actively investing in the region, with its San Bernardino County Service Area serving over 600,000 members2. The potential expansion in Hesperia could help address the gap in medical services that has persisted since the population boom in the early 2000s.
As Kaiser Permanente continues to evaluate opportunities to better serve its members and support local communities, this land acquisition represents a significant step towards enhancing healthcare access in the High Desert region of Southern California.
