BOSTON, June 28 (Nationwide Times) — A duck boat tipped onto its side Saturday near the Charles River entrance in Cambridge, Massachusetts, injuring at least six people in a busy Boston-area sightseeing corridor, according to local police and state officials.

Cambridge police said some of the injuries were minor and two were more serious. Boston EMS said 11 people were injured, including one with serious injuries.

Police said the boat was carrying 32 people when it overturned near a boat ramp on Museum Way by Education Street. Cambridge police said everyone aboard was accounted for, and responders said none of the passengers ended up in the water.

Authorities said the cause was not immediately clear. In a statement quoted by The Boston Globe, Cambridge police said the boat overturned after a tow rope attached to it broke, while Massachusetts State Police said it would lead the investigation.

The boat flipped shortly after 3 p.m., according to local officials. The incident happened near the Charles River, an area used for sightseeing trips and other visitor traffic in the Boston region.
