NEWARK, N.J., July 17 (Nationwide Times) — Panasonic has recalled about 11,480 electric toaster ovens in the United States and 2,184 in Canada after the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said insufficient insulation on the power cord could create a shock or fire hazard.

The recall covers Panasonic model NB-G200 ovens, a stainless steel countertop appliance with the temperature knob on the bottom and the Panasonic name on the front. The CPSC said the ovens were sold online through Amazon.com, Costco.com, Panasonic.com and other platforms nationwide from October 2024 through April 2026 for about $170.

Panasonic has received four consumer reports of circuit breakers or outlets tripping and one report that the product stopped working. No fires or injuries have been reported, according to the CPSC.

Panasonic Corporation of North America, the importer named in the CPSC notice, told Costco members that some purchasers bought Item #2024930 between February 2026 and April 2026. The company said customers should stop using the ovens immediately and may return them to Panasonic for a refund or to a Costco warehouse customer service window for a full refund.
