CALHOUN COUNTY, SOUTH CAROLINA, June 20 (Infinite Headlines) — The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office said six people have been arrested after a June 6 brawl at the 601 Sand Bar on the Congaree River in South Carolina, where deputies said more than 20 people were involved and at least three were injured.

Sheriff Thomas Summers said the disturbance happened during the annual Sparkleberry Duck Run. He said alcohol was a factor and that deputies identified numerous cases of underage drinking.

Fox News reported that the six arrested were Brendan Bonds, Hunter Dalzell, Lucas Scott, Edward Scott, Austin Mizzell and Taylor Knudson. The sheriff’s office said they face various assault and breach-of-peace charges.

Summers said the injuries ranged from swollen eyes to head injuries. He said, “The injuries were severe,” and added, “This kind of behavior will not be tolerated.”

The sheriff’s office said the investigation remains active and that additional arrests are expected as detectives continue reviewing video and public submissions. Authorities have not said what sparked the violence.
