UNION, SOUTH CAROLINA, June 25 (Nationwide Times) — A Wendy’s in Union, South Carolina, is at the center of food-tampering charges after police said employees took a customer’s meal from the trash, spat on it and served it back during a drive-thru dispute.

The workers were identified as Aaliyah Shuntai Sanders, Trinity Lashell Rice and Shadela Crystal Holley. Reporting that cited police said they were charged with tampering with a human drug product or food item.

Police accounts summarized in news reports said the customer had complained about her original order before the food was remade. The reports differed on whether the incident happened on May 30 or May 31.

Audacy, citing Union police, said Sanders and Rice were arrested and that the restaurant disciplined a third employee. Fox News later reported that the three suspects were arrested separately between June 16 and June 22 and said a manager reported the employees had been written up.
