Bulldog Brigade finishes Strong at Southern California Championship earning third place among top regional high school bands
Hesperia, California (Our Hesperia) – The Oak Hills High School Marching Band ended its 2025 competitive season on a high note, earning third place at the Southern California Championships held November 22 at Veterans Stadium in Long Beach. The Bulldog Brigade competed in the Southern California School Band and Orchestra Association (SCSBOA) 3A division against nearly 30 other schools, advancing to the finals and finishing among the region’s best.
Led by band director Raymond Moreno and student drum majors Suzzie Marquez and Yara Vargas, the group’s strong finish marked the second consecutive year that Oak Hills has placed in the top three in their division.
Throughout the season, the Bulldog Brigade earned several first-place and sweepstakes awards at competitions in San Diego, Van Nuys, Long Beach, Riverside, Hacienda Heights, and Ontario. This year’s show, titled Color Vision, featured bright uniforms and a television-inspired theme that quickly became a crowd favorite.
Principal Michael Capps congratulated the students, saying the band’s success “far exceeded all expectations” and continues to make Oak Hills High and the Hesperia community proud.
