Victorville, California (Our Hesperia) — See’s Candies has announced it will permanently close its Victorville store inside the Mall of Victor Valley, with its last day of business set for February 14, 2026. The longtime shop has been a fixture at the mall since 1986, the same year the shopping center first opened its doors to the public.

The closure marks the end of an era for local residents who have long associated the store’s signature black-and-white décor and seasonal treats with community events and holiday traditions. Customers are being encouraged to visit the company’s Apple Valley location at Jess Ranch Marketplace or place orders online.

A sweet chapter in Victorville history

When the Mall of Victor Valley opened in 1986 with 57 stores and anchor tenants such as Mervyn’s, JCPenney, and Harris, See’s Candies quickly became part of its identity. For decades, the shop served as a staple stop during the holidays, offering gift boxes and samples that drew shoppers from across the High Desert. The store’s mall space sits near the former Sears entrance, soon to become home to a 78,000-square-foot ROUND1 Bowling & Arcade venue.

Before See’s had a storefront in Victorville, High Desert residents relied on community clubs and fundraisers to purchase the company’s confections. Local groups like Altrusa International and the Kiwanis Club once coordinated bulk candy sales for events as far back as the 1960s. Club-led distribution of See’s boxed chocolates was a common sight at local hospitals, schools, and small businesses.

Continuing the tradition in Apple Valley

While Victorville’s store prepares to close, See’s Candies will continue to serve the region from its permanent Apple Valley location at Jess Ranch Marketplace, 18975 Bear Valley Road, Suite 5. That location began as a temporary “trial store” in 2019 before establishing a permanent presence in 2020. The Apple Valley shop remains one of the company’s growing retail footprints across California and neighboring states.

A milestone year for See’s Candies

The closure comes as the iconic California company celebrates its 105th anniversary. Founded in 1921 by Charles A. See in Los Angeles, See’s Candies began with a modest shop on Western Avenue, inspired by the recipes of See’s mother, Mary See. Over the next century, the company grew into a beloved West Coast brand known for its handcrafted chocolates and nostalgic packaging.

In marking its anniversary this year, See’s announced a lineup of seasonal products, special campaigns such as “Lollypalooza,” and new packaging inspired by major events in 2026. While the Victorville closure will be bittersweet for longtime patrons, the company’s continued presence in Apple Valley ensures High Desert residents will still have a local source for their favorite chocolates.
