HESPERIA, CALIF., May 25 — The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said a weeklong crime-suppression operation in the High Desert, including Hesperia, led to 15 felony arrests and the seizure of 33 firearms.

The operation, called Operation Consequences, ran Jan. 19 through Jan. 25 and focused on areas including Adelanto, Victorville, Hesperia and nearby communities, according to a written statement from the sheriff’s department.

Deputies and investigators served eight search warrants and made multiple suspect contacts during the operation, the department said.

The sheriff’s department said the seized firearms included three described as ghost guns. Authorities also recovered more than three pounds of suspected methamphetamine and about one pound of fentanyl, according to the department.

The SMASH Street Enforcement Team, short for San Bernardino Movement Against Street Hoodlums, took part in the operation. The sheriff’s Gangs/Narcotics Division, local patrol stations and partner agencies also participated, the department said.

Authorities did not provide the names of the people arrested, the specific alleged felony offenses or court case information in the materials available for this report.

The sheriff’s department statement did not say how many arrests or seizures occurred specifically in Hesperia.
